What to expect at a Baptist church

Baptist churches are independent congregations that belong to state Baptist unions. Most Sunday services feature contemporary or traditional singing, a Bible-based sermon and prayer, and run 60 to 90 minutes. Many have programs for kids during the service and small groups that meet in homes during the week. Services are usually informal, and visitors can simply come in and sit anywhere.
